My Yacht is a small beer cafe with long, blonde wood bar tables and chic lighting within walking distance of both MRT Taipei City Hall and the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and eslite Spectrum. The decor is both modern and welcoming, with some couch seating in the back room. A glittering Zhao Cai ‘prosperity cat’ greets customers next to an “I Eat Tips” jar, and as with most of Taipei’s craft beer hotspots, the day’s on tap offerings are written in chalk behind the bar. The seating makes it easy to drop in for a quick beer as you go about your day, or linger for a bit, trying different local Taiwanese beers, enjoying a few snacks and chatting with friends.

My Yacht offers a range of beers including a number of local Taiwanese brews. Interesting ones to try include a Honey Ale, a seasonal Christmas Ale, a pub stout and a weizen (wheat beer). Other more unique offerings are the Jasmine Ale, a winter melon ale and a Glenfidditch IPA, which is one of the few imported beers on tap. The snack menu is limited, intended mostly for munching while drinking, with their signature offering being the “boned sausages” (sausage wrapped around a bone, which can then be eaten in a similar way to a corn dog).

The staff are efficient and friendly, and most speak enough English. The service is no-frills, which means you won’t be left waiting. The beer menu, as with many beer cafes, is in English above the taps.
