So actually comes from a Thai word – “ซอย”, a term used in Thailand for the word “street”. 55 in Thai is pronounced as “Haa Haa”, which is often a symbol of laughter amongst the Thai. Hence Soi 55 reflects the founders' emphasis on bringing genuine Thai food to Malaysians to enjoy with fun, laughter, and happiness. Malaysia being neighbors to Thailand share similar interests and taste buds when it comes to flavors, thus the journey of bringing Thailand to the neighborhood begins.
