Ben Devlin is touted as one of Australia’s most exciting young chefs. The owner and chef of Pipit in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales has been raking in the accolades recently, including Regional Restaurant of the Year finalist according to the Good Food Guide in 2023.
For two very special nights, on 5 & 6 September, Ben will bring his clean and distinctly Antipodean style cooking to Yellow Fin Horse at Else Kuala Lumpur.
At Pipit, Ben aims to cook food that tells the story of the Northern Rivers/ Tweed region’s climate, environment and people. Using mainly traditional cooking techniques, especially open fire, he weaves bush foods, like lemon myrtle, bunya nuts and Dorrigo pepper, all sourced from the Tweed region, to create simple but big-flavour dishes that have a “max-flavour-low-waste” approach.
It’s this unique but ultimately delicious approach, alongside an array of native bush foods, which Ben will be bringing to Kuala Lumpur for his dinners. This time, the bush foods are skillfully integrated into Malaysian-grown vegetables, proteins and fruits.
Ben’s semi-fine tasting menu at Yellow Fin Horse will be plant-forward and meat-free. Seafood will be used in the garums and preserves.
The package includes:
・Ben Devlin (Pipit, NSW Australia) dinner for 2 persons
・1 night stay for 2 pax in a Mantra Room at Else Kuala Lumpur
・Breakfast for 2 pax
・2 Complimentary cocktails from Raw, Else Kuala Lumpur
