Wander into the forests of the Atayal tribe in Bailan and witness a dazzling “A Galaxy of Fireflies”, mirrored by the Milky Way above. Guided by local Atayal storytellers, learn about cultural legends passed down for generations, and soak in the magic of a summer night filled with fireflies. It’s an unforgettable moment where nature, culture, and wonder come together.

*The “Atayal Secret Firefly Tour” takes place at a private Atayal sanctuary, we are not open to the public.

*Fireflies are affected by weather and natural conditions. In case of heavy rain or poor insect activity, the tour may be canceled to ensure safety and quality. If canceled, only the firefly add-on fee will be refunded.

Follow the Atayal hunter’s trail, winding through mist-covered ancient paths, and immerse yourself in the wisdom and spirit of the hunter culture. Guided by a local expert, you’ll embark on this journey of cultural discovery. You’ll learn how to identify hunting trails, hear the stories of the Atayal people and experience the deep connection between the tribe and the forest.

【Activity Information】
- Experience Includes: Atayal hunting culture, forest exploration, and millet wine tasting a the the bonfire.
- Fee: TWD 990 per person (original price: TWD 2,500 per person).
Time: 19:30 – 21:30 (Monday to Sunday, closed on Wednesdays). - Group Confirmation: The activity is subject to weather conditions and the number of participants. Final confirmation will be made by 17:00 on the day.
- Rainy Day Plan: In case of rain, the activity will be conducted in a semi-indoor setting, with possible adjustments on whether to enter the forest based on weather conditions.
- Refund Policy: If the activity is canceled and you have pre-paid online, staff will assist you with an online refund process (refund will be completed within 7–14 business days
- Capacity & Booking: Limited spots available. The activity will be confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants. You can secure your spot by adding it during your online booking.
On-Site Sign-Up: If the group is confirmed, the hunter guide may allow a few additional spots for on-site sign-up, depending on availability. - Participation Restrictions: For safety reasons, participants must bring their own rain boots or non-slip footwear. This activity is not recommended for children under 12, pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, high blood pressure, or mobility difficulties.

Designed so that even solo travelers can join with ease, this experience makes it simple for more guests to take part in the feast. Those seeking an even deeper connection, can pair it with the “Atayal Cultural Activity,” where an Atayal guide will share insights into traditional clothing, the meaning of facial tattoos, and unique DIY crafts.

Listening to detailed explanations, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Atayal culture and history, and enjoy some unexpected special activities along the way. The experience concludes with the tribal-style lunch, allowing you to savor the culture with every bite and end the activity on a truly satisfying note.

【Event Information】
Night Firefly Viewing: This activity takes place at the “Atayal Century-Old Firefly Secret Spot,” a private area owned by the Atayal community and not open to the public.

Pet Policy: As this activity involves a guided tour in the forest at night, pets are not permitted to ensure safety.

The park is located in the 1000-meter high Pailan tribe, surrounded by beautiful cedar forests. On clear days, you can overlook the Pailan River Valley, and sometimes you can sit and watch the rolling clouds like waves, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains. Throughout the year, the park offers diverse views, with cherry blossom season in February to March, firefly season in May, hydrangea season from May to July, and beetle season from July to August. Occasionally, you can also find bamboo beetles, flying squirrels, and Taiwan's smallest owl - the Collared Scops Owl, making it an ecologically rich and picturesque paradise. The park also offers a luxury camping experience with Atayal-style cuisine, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the culture of the Atayal tribe.

Follow County Road 122 for 50.4 kilometers until you see a fork in the road. Keep right and continue driving for about 3 kilometers to arrive. For visitors driving from the south: Take National Highway 3 and exit at Zhulin (90), then head towards Qionglin and turn onto Provincial Highway 68. Continue on Zhongfeng Road (Provincial Highway 3) until you reach County Road 122. Follow County Road 122 for 50.4 kilometers until you see a fork in the road. Keep right and continue driving for about 3 kilometers to arrive.
