Description
"Ishigaki Yaima Village" is located on a hill overlooking the famous "Namisho Bay" scenic spot of Ishigaki Island. With its rich natural scenery as the backdrop, it is a theme park that recreates the traditional ancient residences of the Yaeyama Islands arranged in rows. In addition to providing interesting experiences such as trying on traditional Ryukyu clothing and coloring Shisa lions, it also offers on-site visits to the "Nagura Anpal" mangrove forest reserve registered under the Ramsar Convention, allowing you to observe rare flora and fauna up close. The park also has a dedicated pool for water buffaloes, as well as enclosures for crested serpent eagles, squirrel monkeys, and areas housing various other animals. Among them, the popular squirrel monkey feeding experience is one of the park's highlights! The squirrel monkeys, originating from South America, are raised in an environment closest to nature. The friendly squirrel monkeys will jump onto your hands, and if you give them food, they will come even closer to you. Their adorable appearance is loved by both adults and children!
