This aptly named Sichuan restaurant started out as a small noodle shop over 60 years ago. Its signature pork dumplings in red oil are made with pork hind shank wrapped in custom-made dumpling skins. Homemade fermented beefsteak tomatoes lend a fruity tanginess to Shuizhu beef and fish poached in sour tomato soup. Mala hotpot made with over 60 different Chinese herbs and spices is mild in taste without being greasy. The menu changes every season.
