Chanshuo: Xitou Ecocamping is Chanshuo’s first campsite dedicated to self-pitched camping. Nestled in the forests of Xitou in Lugu Township, Nantou County, it sits at an elevation of approximately 1,150 meters above sea level. Surrounded by towering Taiwan cedars and bald cypress trees, the campsite welcomes guests with fresh mountain air and the invigorating scent of the forest. During the day, sunlight filters through the canopy, casting ever-changing patterns across the tents and forest floor. If you are lucky, you may even witness spectacular rays of light streaming through the trees. At night, the temperature gradually drops, leaving only the sounds of insects, the mountain breeze, and the peaceful forest—making it a refreshing retreat that campers return to throughout the year. Whether you are an experienced camper or spending your first night in the forest, there is a camping style for you. The campsite offers self-pitched camping sites, car-camping areas, individual sites, and group bookings. Ready-to-stay camping trailers, tent rentals, and assisted tent setup services are also available, allowing everyone to experience the forest at their own pace. For a more comfortable stay, the campsite features cooking shelters, drinking-water dispensers, refrigerators, microwave ovens, washing areas, and bathroom facilities, along with reliable hot-water and electricity systems. During the first half of 2026, we also rebuilt eight wooden tent platforms, repaired campsite roads, improved the car-camping areas, and added warning markings, ground-level lighting, and emergency lights along the walkways. These ongoing improvements focus on what matters most to campers—from setting up tents and moving around the grounds to using electricity and staying safe after dark. From online reservations to arrival, Chanshuo: Xitou Ecocamping continues to simplify the guest experience through digital services and smart electricity management. At the same time, we promote waste reduction and Leave No Trace principles, offering thoughtful convenience while preserving the forest as naturally as possible. A stay here is more than finding a place to pitch your tent. It is an invitation to bring everyday life into the forest and rediscover the simple joy of camping among the cedars, phytoncides, mountain breezes, and morning light.
