Nestled in a neighbourhood rich in cultural heritage, Jawi House blends in seamlessly. The retro room sets the backdrop for the chef to experiment Indian recipes with Peranakan influences. On the menu, a good selection of biriyani with different ingredients are found alongside jawi laksa lemak (rice noodles with flaked tuna and mackerel in coconut milk broth) and papadum. Fish curry is always good; ask servers about the catch of the day.

GastroMonth Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024 is an inaugural month-long gastronomic event organised by FunNow Malaysia in June 2024. The GastroMonth 2024 features a series of curated yet affordable multi-course lunches and multi-hands haute dinners at restaurants recommended in the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity as part of FunNow Malaysia’s commitment to building a better future for all.
